Supported Living

Better Life Adult Living offers living supports which fall into 1 of the 4 following categories.

Supported Living

Basic

The resident needs occasional supervision, assistance or reminders to perform some daily activities, but is independent in other activities. He or she may require assistance or reminders to take medications or may be able to take medications independently.

Supported Living

Moderate

The resident requires more substantial support with some activities of daily living, while needing only minimal assistance with others. Assistance with medications may be provided

Supported Living

Extensive

The resident needs frequent and comprehensive assistance with activities of daily living. Staff administers medications or assists the resident to take them; staff monitors the resident for the effects of medications.

Supported Living

Extraordinary Medical/Behavioral

If a resident requires more than Extensive care, Better Life Adult Living may request a resident-specific waiver from the state.


What is Supported Living

In Supported Living, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live in a beautiful home located in the greater Albuquerque area which they share with persons who have similar needs and interests. 24/7 living supports ensure each person experiences optimum health and safety in a personalized environment where they develop increased self-sufficiency.

What’s included

Room and Board

Beautiful and clean home with bedding and bathing amenities as well as self-service laundry.

 

Toiletries

All necessary toiletries including soap, shampoo, towels etc.

 

Meals

3 nutritious meals served daily.


Activities

Use of communal activity spaces as well as other facility-sanctioned activities meant to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.



Day Habilitation (CCS-G)

Shared Experiences. Structured Fun. 

CCS-G provides structured group activities in the community and/or at our day program facility. These activities are designed to promote socialization, engagement, and skill development within a small, supportive group settings.

Key Features:

  • Day program-based services in a safe, accessible space

  • Community activities in small groups (e.g., museums, parks)

  • Creative, social, and recreational programming

  • Group learning on topics like health, wellness, and self-advocacy

  • Flexible hours based on the individual’s needs

Our CCS-G services offer a balance between structure and fun, helping participants build confidence, relationships, and routines in a group setting that feels like family.

Customized Community Supports-Individual (CCSI)

One-on-One Support. Your Goals. Your Pace.

CCS-I is designed for individuals who prefer personalized support in exploring their community, developing life skills, or pursuing hobbies and personal goals. Services are provided one-on-one with a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP).


Key Features:

  • Personalized community outings

  • Skill-building (money management, navigation, etc.)

  • Volunteer or job-readiness experiences

  • Leisure and recreation based on personal interest

  • Safety and advocacy skill development

With CCS-I, every outing, activity, and interaction is tailored to what the individual wants—empowering them to lead the life they choose, at their own pace.

Customized In-Home Supports (CIHS)

Support Where It’s Needed Most—At Home

CIHS is for individuals who live with family or on their own and need assistance with daily living tasks or accessing their community. This service is highly flexible and designed to complement natural supports.

  • In-home support with hygiene, meals, chores, and routines

  • Assistance with transportation and errands

  • Community access and inclusion

  • Personal safety and emergency preparedness

  • Help with scheduling and goal tracking
